LONG MAY YOU RUN ART POSTER

This image depicts five species of Pacific Salmon beautifully decked out in their spawning colors as they return to the rivers they were born in. In the upper left is a Red Salmon also known as a Sockeye. The largest salmon on the upper right is the magnificent King or Chinook salmon. The happy looking salmon in the center is a Coho or Silver salmon. In the lower left is a Humpy or Pink Salmon. In the lower right is a toothy Dog or Chum Salmon.

This is a variation on my Midnight Run artwork from what back in 1986 with verbiage inspired by Neil Young’s song of the same name. The simple message behind this artwork is that we should do what we can to protect and preserve wild salmon runs.

Pen and ink on paper with digital color by Grace Freeman.
