This was originally designed as a t-shirt for one of my favorite coastal festivals, the Fisherpoets Gathering in beautiful Astoria, Oregon. The gathering celebrates the lives of commercial fishers via poetry, prose and song.
This artwork strives to honor the people who make their livings from the waters of our big blue planet. From left to right the fish in the circle are a yelloweye rockfish, king salmon, pacific halibut, coho salmon and sockeye salmon. That’s a mythical double-ended wooden troller named True Blue coming at ya’ in the center.
