I filled a canvas with beautiful rockfish from the genus Sebastes, and painted larval and juvenile forms in the border area along with an electric guitar (they are ROCKfish after all). The letters in the corners are meant to spell out R-O-C-K, but the C is obscured. This was originally commissioned as the cover art for ‘Rockfishes of the Northeast Pacific’ by the inimitable Dr. Milton Love, Mary Yoklavich and Lyman Thorsteinson.
