The wily trout is sacred quarry for fly fishermen- though fly fishing is an avocation I have honestly yet to master. My amazing ability to immediately tangle a fishing line is probably at the heart of this drawing. You can spot four ladybug beetles in the border as a subtle reference to the bad pun, based on an old Beatles song, that inspired this image. There’s a Stratocaster guitar in there as well. The pantheon of ‘sacred’¬ù trout represented are brook, rainbow, apache, brown, and the tail of a steelhead.
